John L. Stewart, AIA – Architect & Principal
John L. Stewart received a Bachelor of Interior Design and a Master of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin. In 1979 he moved to California and began working as a Project Architect for a medium-sized architectural office. He then opened Stewart Associates in San Carlos, California and has been practicing architecture in San Carlos since 1981. In addition to being a licensed architect, John is a Certified Green Building Professional and teaches Architecture at the College of San Mateo in San Mateo, California.

John has been an Associate Member of the American Society of Interior Designers. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), has served as Director and Secretary of the San Mateo County Chapter and is currently serving as Vice President/President Elect. John is also Director of the Congress of Residential Architecture (CORA), San Francisco Peninsula Chapter and a member of Architects, Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility.
